Verduno: New Orange Flag

We are delighted to announce that the village of Verduno, in the heart of the Langhe in Piedmont, has received this week the prestigious Orange Flag recognition from the Touring Club Italiano (TCI).

A village of excellence in the Langhe-Piedmont landscape

Verduno is referred to as the “sentinel of the Langhe” due to its strategic position. Belvedere Garden overlooks the vineyard landscape of the Langhe and the Roero, recognized as a UNESCO heritage site. The well-preserved historic centre features the ancient ricetto — now chosen by artists — the parish church of San Michele and the 18th-century castle. Wine production ranges from the prestigious Barolo DOCG to the spicy Verduno Pelaverga DOC. The village retains an authentic soul and is a repository of Piedmontese traditions.

Significance of the Orange Flag recognition

Orange Flag certification is awarded only to inland municipalities that demonstrate high standards in: tourist hospitality, environmental sustainability, safeguarding of the historical-cultural heritage and structured tourism services.
>This year the village of Cella Monte (Piedmont) — together with two other localities in the Lazio region — has also received the same recognition, confirming the importance of Piedmont in the network of Italian tourism excellence.
